The food was amazing and the place was cozy.
I was there on April 5th for the second time, first time was back on 1995 was leaving in the streets at that time no family in California, I thought the taquitos I had that day were the best thing I ever had or I was just really hungry. after a few years end up in Phoenix az got married got kids in my mind I always wanted to comeback and eat at jonitas cafe, 25 years later I did took my family there they loved the food the place very friendly, and i confirmed my self that i wasn't just hungry back then. the food it's really amazing good flavor, good taste, great place I'm planning to visit again sometime in June...
I had the rolled tacos and they were really fresh. The green salsa on top was good, but I could use a little more heat on it! Haha Over all a cool experience sitting in the tiny shop watching people walk by.
Always great service and delicious food!
Small place good food:)
Good service. And great food! Wont be disapointed.
Im sorry but we ate here on our crazy la trip and im all for supporting the raza but they price their food quite high and the place is quite rundown. I dont want them to go out of business but my professional opinion is that they should REMODEL so many people pass by this restaurant and end up choosing a different one because of its appearance because if I would have looked at the place a bit better and the prices I would have left faster than a guy who gets that "Im late" text.
My fav spot for tasty mexican food. i love this place always quality food & service. it has a nice interior. i see why this place has a lot of positive reviews.
I enjoy coming to eat here out of all the other little restaurants. My family and I always get received with great customer service. It's true, you must try the guacamole here. It compliments the taquitos very well. I like to go there during the week, because during the weekend, it is impossible to find parking.
Home Grown Food For The Mexican Soul
Im all about supporting small mom and pop shops, but this place need serious help! My daughter and I got a series stomach virus after eating here. Authentic Mexican food is full of delicious flavor I can't say the same about this joint. They need to up their menu and bring down the prices. If your going to sell unflavored food at least have some decent prices. They totally take advantage of the clientele.
Been coming to Jaunita's for over 40 years!! Only a handful of tables at this little location on historic Olvera Street. Try the taquitos...the green sauce is their signature. The homemade red sauce they place on the table is spicy for most but adds great flavor to any dish...I mean paper plate!!! I recommend the #3.
mexican food and the setting here is very good. The service was helpful and kind. This place has a cool atmosphere.
I Love this place, the Taquitos are delicious
My favorite quick spot to go to!
My favorite cafe of all time. Try the taquitos with the sauce on the side to dip into👍 Comes with a side of beans and a simple but flavorful salad. Extremely fast service and cook time! All around good, can’t go wrong with eating here😊
Our server, Jose, was so nice and very attentive. They had great happy hour prices. Margaritas and taquitos for less than 6 dollars each.
Great food and friendly workers keep up the great work. Keep on making those delicious flautas.
I've been coming here since I was little! The #2 is my fav!! The service is excellent! Give it a try! You won't be disappointed!
Best freakn taquitos ever and salad freeejoles🙃
Love the food, I've been going to eat there for over 10yrs.
Great staff and authentic mexican street food.
How disappointing. This place has amazing pictures, everything is fresh and the people are super friendly and welcoming. But everyone agreed that their dish was very bland.
First time there and I will be going back wonderful enchiladas my fav
Better than Cielito Lindo. Hands down. Humble little mexican place with good food. No flash. No frills.
mexican food at this place - super tasty. very filling. will surely make a return trip. bring your appetite because portions are filling. menu is like a place in san francisco i loved.
Great place for quality mexican food. Got there near six, it wasn't packed at all. Really nothing but great experiences here, so I will be back. It has a cool interior.
Seriously good taquitos and awesome refried beans.
Excellent place for Mexican food. Cool location to meet with coworkers. Certainly worth going back to. It has a good feel to it.
Nice little shop with cheap pricing for the area. The food itself was plentiful, though the quality was just okay. Not truly authentic Mexican food, but not so Americanized either: rather somewhat of an inbetween. Perhaps a good place for those not too familiar with Mexican cuisine, or simply are looking for a cheap and quick bite to eat. However the service was excellent!
Best hard shell tacos & taquitos with guacamole!
This guy Mike.. makes the most delicious old school food with huge flavors. Don’t walk on by.. go in and try everything.
Mexican food, mmm, so tasty. A favorite evening place of mine. The staff was friendly and observant. This place has a cool atmosphere.
Very good food! And Sevice.
Loved the chorizo torta and the cafe de olla! Recommended If are by Plazita Olvera
Ordered a burrito and got surprised...it was so big, I could not finished it. It tasted delicious with it's melted cheese sauce on top, layered with shredded chicken, rice, beans, fresh tomatoes, lettuces, and cheese. Yummy!
The sopes are AMAZING so are the chicken tamales. Absolute must try!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Juanita's. Their taquitos are the best in the whole world. Their "green sauce" is in a world of its own. I have been eating their my entire life as have my children. I'm sure everything else is wonderful but I can't not have my taquitos!! I will never have taquitos anywhere but Juanita's.
A bit bland, but tastes fresh. Old furniture. Nice server.
The greatest food ever....Amen. ty JESUS....AMEN. ♡♡♡
This is a great Mexican Cafe located in the heart of Placita Olvera the famous “Pueblito de los Angeles”. Family ran business managed by his current owner Edward Flores (3rd generation). They have combination plates at affordable prices, the food tastes great and their “Champurrado” (Hot Chocolate) pairs great with any breakfast. The Torta or Burrito de Chorizo are amazing, you can also try the Sopes. IG@Isaacpaiz
Delicious and filling. Great price and the staff are really nice. You'll love it. It was featured on Huell Howser's California Gold.
My wife and I love eating there
Absolutely the best! Jose is great. (He deserves 5 stars)! Wonderful food, and amazing hard shell tacos.
Next time I drive to LA I'm stopping here again!! Loved the food and the vibes! Small but authentic and great flavor.
Tasty, authentic mexican food in a nice outdoor joint. The sopes was amazing.
Delicious taquitos! The guys and cook are awesome😚thanks guys! My daughter and I will see you soon!
Mexican food and service at this spot is very good. i will probably become a regular.
It remains the Most Authentic Mexican Food around
Solid chicken burrito and the salsa has the right amount of kick. Obviously this is a small fast food option and in that category this place gets a solid five star. Friendly and efficient service and fair prices.
